exhibition "Painters of Mexico in Ciudad Real in Barcelona

L to University of Castilla-La Mancha held for three years a program called "Bicentennial " with which is home to a "broad program ... scientific, cultural, economic and social to give an overview of the different Latin American countries to the university community of Castilla-La Mancha ." on the occasion of the commemoration the bicentennial of the independence of several Latin American countries.

The program began in 2009 having to Ecuador as an actor, continued in 2010 with Peru as the guest and in 2011 it has touched the honor of Mexico to act as a protagonist.

Although the main program was held on 12 and 13 April, in which lectures, panel discussions, film screenings and examinations took place with such illustrious names such as Jorge Volpi, Jordi Soler, Jaime del Arenal Fenochio, Caraza Ximena Campos and Eduardo Ferrer, MacGregor, among others, in a side event, opened the exhibition "Painters of Mexico" in the Open University Cultural Hall in the center of Ciudad Real.


The Open University Cultural Hall is also involved in this approach from the perspective of contemporary art and hosts a sample of two very significant representatives of the Mexican pictorial scene today, Flavia Totoro and Carlos Vidal.

Flavia Totoro: Chilean mother and father born in Italy, have the passport and heart tripartite triplicate. Part of their Bachelor's studies was between Chile and Mexico. A realistic painting of predominantly topic of portraits and landscapes. The versatility of the subject responds to the search for technical development, the model, the landscape, the idea is a vehicle for ownership of a manipulation of personal painting.

Carlos Vidal: The case of Mexican painter Carlos Vidal (Chiapas, 1957) is quite unique. Arrives in Spain for eleven years, after passing through Paris and Rome, and then integrated in an amazing way not only in the artistic world of their new country, but it also incorporates in its English generation activist. Hence, and from the beginning, is regarded as a painter "Mexican Madrid", which despite exhibit regularly in Spain since 1986 has never failed to be present in Mexico.

The exhibition runs until May 7 and will be available from Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 21:00 and Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00.
