General Thank You Wedding

to vote as a Mexican from Spain

E his month of April 2011, actual starts the process by which Mexicans abroad, but especially in Spain, we cast our vote for elections Federal take place in Mexico in 2012.

The fact that we are out of our country does not mean that we can exercise our right to vote to elect the next president of Mexico, but we do assert our voice in the polls, it is necessary to carry out a series of essential steps for that voice to be effective and real.

The Federal Electoral Institute of Mexico enabled website Vote of Mexicans Abroad where not only we can access very important information, but we can also complete the questionnaire by which performs the Pre-registration before that body.

The Federal Electoral Institute summed up in four easy steps, actions that we are Mexicans out of our country will be carried out in order to exercise our right to vote in 2012. The steps are:

  • Step 1: Have on hand data from your voting card Photo

  • Step 2: Pre-register

    Between April and September 2011, we invite you to pre-register . Thus, we offer personalized service to answer questions and accompany you in the process of voting from abroad. This pre-registration is only possible through do www.votoextranjero.mx or www.votoextranjero.org.mx
  • Step 3: Sign the voter registration list Abroad (LNER )

    a) Between October 1, 2011 and January 15, 2012 , you can get the application form to the voters list Abroad (LNER). Go to the consulates and embassies or enter to www.votoextranjero.mx to print the application form for you to vote from abroad.

    b) Fill out the registration form online and print it or fill it by hand, according to the instructions, and submit.

    c) Take a legible photocopy of your photo voting card on both sides, preferably on separate sheets, signing the two pages of your handwriting, put your fingerprint. The signature on the application and copies must be equal to your voting card.

    d) Take a legible photocopy of your proof of residence abroad. It may be a photocopy of proof of services (water, electricity, telephone, etc..) Or photocopy Your Matricula Consular. The IFE will send the ballot at this address for votes.

    e) Enter the registration form, a photocopy of your photo voting card and a photocopy of your proof of address on the envelope prompted.

    f) Perform such documentation sent by certified mail. You make the shipment of this request before January 15, 2012 . If you submit after this date, your application may not be accepted.
  • Step 4: Vote

    Between April 16 and May 20, 2012 , IFE mailed to you certificate your ballot. Once you receive it, vote in a free, secret and direct.

    Enter the ballot in the envelope you have provided for that purpose, and immediately close it send to be received by the IFE in Mexico City. Make sure you arrive before June 30, 2012 in order to be counted July 1, 2012 , federal election day.
